Rajneeti

The author has just seen Rajneeti and the experience has been so merimerising that he cannot control his temptation to write a blog for the film.

Based on the backdrop of Indian politics the film is a story of a political family. It is about a state assembly election where two aspiring and highly ambitious candidates representing two different sides from the same family are contesting against each other, and in order to vanquish each other they are ready to put everything at stake, all kinds of maneuvers and tactics are used ranging from propagandas, flesh, black mailing to even brutal assassination. It has an ensemble cast of big actors like Ajay devgan, Ranbir Kapoor,Manoj bajpai,Nana patekar,Arjun rampal,Katrina kaif etc and everyone has performed extremely well.Even newcomers like Ranbir and Katrina looked very matured in their roles along with the vetrans. The blog does not intend to write a film review but will like to dissect each and every character of the film and will like to delve deeper into their personas.

1> Manoj bajpai:- he was the champion of the champions.Out of all the wonderful performances he gave the finest one.His role was of "Viren Pratap Singh" and was loosely based on Duryodhana’s role.Like Duryodhana he was extremely ambitious and could go to any extent to get power, he was relentless, impatient and was full of hatred. But in spite of these was decently sly as well as dominating too. He was quite smart in emotionally black mailing karna(Ajay devgan's character Suraj) and also in using pressure tactics when required. Dressed in typical tight paints, shirts and half coat Manoj simply rocked.

2> Arjun Rampal:- One of the most complex character of the film and it is very tough to restrict his character in a particular frame. Was again highly ambitious, egoistic as well as arrogant & short tempered .Loved indulgence and was also very brutal but loved his family a lot. Playing Prithvi pratap had been the best performance by Arjun rampal so far.

3> Ranbir Kapoor:- Initially plays a suave and smart gentlmen but once when exposed to the real world politics the political DNAS in him becomes active. He gets transformed into a revengful and ultra smart tactician who can even gamble with his love to fulfill his purpose. Though shrewd like his brothers he was not all impatient like them. Was venomous like a viper but was also extremely calm and composed in his appearance.

4> Nana Patekar:- Inspired by the character of Krishna Nana Patekar played the role of a politician called brij Gopal who though was not into active politics but was active in each and every plot making. Was extremely intelligent, practical and desicive. But like all the male characters in the film his chaarcter too was not untouched with the streak of violence and blood.Looked awesome while puffing his stamina stick and observing the whole game.

5> Ajay devgan :- His character of Suraj was loosely based on the character of Karna( but the magnificence and emotional appeal was missing.)He was also extremely ambitous. Was brutal too, never hesitated in killing any one on the behest( along with emotional black mailing) of his friend Viren Pratap. Was a impressive speaker as well as cold and calculating.Behind every move of Viren Suraj happens to be the think tank.

6> Katrina Kaif:- Nothing much for her to play( except for the power packed speech after her husband's assassination). Was just there to add a bit of glamour.

In general Rajneeti was a film that took a very hit hitting stand on Indian politics but if delved a bit further it was more about the baser passions of human being, it was built on a complex web of human ambitions, arrogance of power & attitude of revenge. Though dark and looked a bit deviated from reality but was still very impactful and entertaining due to various reasons such huge starcast, power packed performance, smooth execution, nice direction etc.But the Real strength of the film depended on the fact that it was based on one of the best written book of human history that is the "Mahabharata" . A book which no matter is told in any context and in any time will always be alluring and charming.

Knowledge is just illusion

What is knowledge is it a reality or just an illusion, an illusion created by human mind. The author knows it well that he is trying his hand on a very difficult and politically incorrect area, but sometimes the mind wants to tread in this often unknown territory.
Always so much of emphasis is given to knowledge, knowledgeable persons are respected in all the quarters of life, every where one can find this obnoxious item, in the form of books, blogs websites, news papers, articles, ppts etc. In each and every nook one can find knowledge, The disease of this knowledge has become so contagious that it has started coming out of its regular adobe to various new places such as chat forums, parties, cafes everywhere.
But one thing I don't understand what is the basis of knowledge, or rather what is it exactly. As much I can understand it is just one's own projection, one's own understanding but why does it happen that an individual's understanding becomes a universal truth. If Freud writes on psychoanalysis it would have been his vision his understanding. How come that becomes a universal idea, why should a psychology student or for that any other student should go through the trauma of reading 500 stupid pages of psychoanalysis. It was Sigmund Freud’s idea and he has the right to perceive whatever he wants, but the problem arises when his personal idea becomes a universal truth & over a period of time this newly formed knowledge is read by more and more people thereby this idea which was once nothing but just an individual opinion starts getting deep and deep into individual psyche, bolstering itself more strongly as an universal conception.
That's the whole game of knowledge. Knowledge often disguised in some complex terminology and higher idea is nothing but an illusion, a chimera an individual's personal opinion which by chance becomes an enlightening thought.
I have started pitying people who gives so much of emphasis to this word knowledge. There is no dearth of such people who often live their whole life on this borrowed entity, in every corner of this world one can find such people discussing and debating, arguing and counter-arguing. Circling around some complex philosophy, vomiting out some bookish knowledge often lased with complex terms & these complex terms are often the life line of knowledge because it is these terms that can make a simple idea pure knowledge because knowledge can't be simple ,it should have state of the art terminologies which are often tough in remembering, and it has to be difficult in remembering because if it will have simple words then it will be remembered by any one, it will no more be an elite indulgence, an idea with simple words will be a disagreement with the general concept of knowledge according to which knowledge must have a streak of complexity.
In the end I will  say that knowledge is just illusion.

(Views expressed over here are strictly personal and the author very well knows relegating knowledge as illusion might be too impractical but under the influence of some brusque random thoughts the author has written the blog.)
